God Is Love

Come, ye that know and love the Lord,
And raise your tho'ts above;
Let ev'ry heart and voice accord
To sing that "God is love."

This precious truth his Word declares,
And all his mercies prove;
Jesus, the gift of gifts, appears
To show that "God is love."

Behold his patience, bearing long
With those who from him rove;
Soon he'll instruct earth's mighty throng,
And teach them "God is love."
