PROMISE FOR MAY 16TH

"But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil." 2 Thessalonians 3:3

The prophet Daniel says that particularly in this time of the end, "many shall be purified and made white and tried;" and Malachi compares the trials of this time to the "refiner's fire" and to "fuller's soap," which are designed to refine and purify the LORD'S people. The Apostle Paul urges that we fight the good fight of faith and patiently endure afflictions to the end. And many are the words of consolation and blessed comfort offered by the Psalmist and others (one above) to the tempest-tossed and suffering people of God.--See Psa. 77:1-14; 116:1-14; 31:24; 34:19; 2 Thes. 3:3.
